The owner of the house is Mrs. Josie Nelson who attended the August 20, 1986 Council meeting and explained to Councll that she did not want to demolish !he house but would consider selling it. Mrs. Nelson did not attend the September 3rd Council meeting, but I recommended Council adopt the Resolution and hold it in abeyance for s1x weeks. Council accepted my recommendation and adopted the Resolution accordingly. Mrs. Nelson told me that she was going to sell the property when I informed her of Lhe Council action on Se�tember 3rd. I waited more than the allotted six weeks before contacting Mrs. Nelson on October 30, 19A6 at which time she told me she �as not going to sell the house, I tried to encourage Mrs. Nelson to sell the house. On December 9, 1986 I sent a letter to Mrs. Nelson advising her that I was going to contlnue wlth demolition. A cooy of Lhat letter is attached. Mrs, Nelson came to my office after she received the letter and said she would not allow the house to be d�noiished. She said she wanted to fix it up and move into it but would not start the work until the snring ��r summer of 1987. Mrs. Nelson talked with Larry Callahan about this ar.1 he said that only Council could grant her permis.;ion to work on the house after the cold weather clears. Mrs. Nelso� indicated that she wanted to talk to Council at the December l7th meeting. I would like to inform Council that I have proceeded to ha•�e published a "Call for Rids" for demolition of the structure with a bid opening date of January 8, 1986.
