r <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 5629 /44 1%,/m <br /> A RESOLUTION waiving public bidding requirements and approving a sole source pur se of floating <br /> brush aerators from House Manufacturing Company, Inc. <br /> WHEREAS, the Everett Water Pollution Control Facility needs floating brush aerators to provide oxygen to <br /> the aerated lagoon wastewater treatment process; and <br /> WHEREAS, House Manufacturing Company, Inc. ("House Mfg.")produces the only floating brush aerators <br /> that match the existing equipment, and are identical to the 18 units which have been installed since 2003; and <br /> WHEREAS, the House Mfg. SDD Series Direct Driven Floating Brush Aerators have the same unique <br /> operational features required by the Everett Water Pollution Control Facility aerator standard which includes <br /> rotor construction, material requirements,horsepower, and drive design; and <br /> WHEREAS, the House Mfg. 10hp Brush Aerators have the same maintenance requirements, spare parts <br /> inventory, and maintenance protocols as the existing equipment; and <br /> WHEREAS, other 10hp Brush Aerator models were evaluated, including Aeromix Systems, ATI Aeration, <br /> Lakeside Equipment, S &N Airflo, but did not meet the requirements of the City's Standard Specification <br /> for Purchase of Floating Aerators and the House Mfg. 10hp Brush Aerator is the only model that meets the <br /> City's requirements; and <br /> WHEREAS, House Manufacturing Company, Inc., is the manufacturer of House SDD Series Direct Driven <br /> 10hp Floating Brush Aerators and only sells their products by direct sale to customers in Washington; <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EVERETT that <br /> because there is clearly and legitimately only one source capable of supplying floating brush aerators that <br /> meet the City's needs and are compatible with existing equipment,the City hereby waives competitive <br /> bidding requirements and authorizes the purchase of SDD Series Direct Driven 10hp Floating Brush Aerators <br /> from House Manufacturing Company, Inc. <br /> //11 4410.. <br /> Councilperson Introducing Resolution <br /> PASSED and APPROVED this 1st day of June , 2005. <br /> Council President <br />
