This sewer is approximatley 11' deep and is constructed of
concrete pipe. The new additlon, proposed for expanding the executive
dining portion of this building, will locate a footing which is directly
over the centerline of the above sanitary sewer. The depth of this
footing is 3' below grade, leaving a clearance above the sewer of B' .
The Uniform Building Code requires that the pipe either be relocated or
that it be reconstructed of cast iron pipe. Since this pipe services only
one toitet complex in the 40-82 Building, we arc requesting that a waiver
be granted to The Boeing Company to allow us to leave the sewer in its
present location, and, if at such time in the future repairs are required,
The Boeing Company, at that time, will abandon the section under the
building and reroute the line a compliance with the code.
We dc not believe that the condtcion warrants relocation at this time,
and do not believe it will create any problem for the future; and will
save a considerable amount of money on Boeing's part.
Sincerely,
BOEING COMMERCI AIRPLANE COMPANY
747 Divi to
L.
