The City of
Everett has participated in the task force at different times throughout this period. In 2000, an interlocal
agreement signed by the City Council approved City participation, including the Everett Police
Department's assignment of eight full time commissioned officers and one full time civilian employee to
the task force. Everett's expanded role with the task force has proven to provide an increase in narcotics
enforcement services to the City. Law enforcement activities are jointly coordinated in order to disrupt
illegal drug trafficking.
Funding will be from the Narcotics Forfeiture Account and is budgeted for 2004.
RECOMMENDATION: (Exact action requested of Council):
Authorize the Mayor to sign the Interlocal Agreement Between the City of Everett and the Snohomish
County Regional Narcotics Task Force 16
