4 <br /> Board,by and through its chairman,for the purpose of administrating assets and <br /> resources available to the Task Force;and <br /> WHEREAS the Task Force Commander and Task Force Executive Board have <br /> determined that execution of this agreement is in the best interests of the Task Force and <br /> its Participating Jurisdictions, and have recommended that it be approved by Snohomish <br /> County on behalf of the Participating Jurisdictions. <br /> NOW,THEREFORE the Participating Jurisdictions and the City of Everett <br /> hereby agree as follows: <br /> 1. Purpose. The purpose of this interlocal agreement is to provide for the <br /> assignment of the Everett Police Department's narcotics unit consisting of at <br /> least six narcotics police officers and related equipment and supplies to the <br /> Task Force on a full time basis,and in consideration for such assignment to <br /> provide for distribution to the City of Everett a portion of such assets as may <br /> be forfeited during the term of this agreement as a result of Task Force action. <br /> 2. Duties of the City of Everett. The City of Everett will take the following <br /> actions: <br /> a. Assign at least six narcotics police officers and related equipment and <br /> supplies agreed upon by the Task Force Commander and the Everett <br /> Police Chief to the Task Force on a full time basis effective January 1, <br /> 2004. For purposes of this subparagraph,the phrase "related <br /> equipment and supplies"includes all equipment and supplies, <br /> including motor vehicles that are customarily available for use by the <br /> officers assigned to the Everett Police Department's narcotics unit. <br /> b. The City of Everett Police Department will make available to the <br /> Snohomish Regional Drug Task Force a sum agreed upon by the <br /> Chief of Police to be used as described in the Task Force 2004 <br /> operating budget. This fulfills the City of Everett's obligation under <br /> paragraphs 1 and 2a above to provide related equipment and <br /> supplies,including vehides. The amount for the Task,Force 2005, <br /> 2006,and 2007 operating budgets for these purposes shall be similarly <br /> determined and subject to the approval of the Everett Police Chief. <br /> c. Continue to make such training and other resources available to the <br /> police officers assigned to the Task Force as would be available to <br /> other officers employed by the Everett Police Department. <br /> d. Refer all potential asset forfeitures initiated or investigated by the <br /> Everett Police Department narcotics officers assigned to the Task <br /> Force during the pendency of this agreement to the Task Force for <br /> disposition at the discretion of the Task Force or prosecuting <br /> authority(county prosecutor or United States Attorney). <br /> 19 <br />
