Brockway, AIA
3216 Wetmore Ave.
Everett, WA 98201
SUBJECT: Solie Funeral Homc
2201 Colby Avenue
Dear Mr. Brockway:
Although the mechanical portions of the project will not be reviewed until the mechanical
permit is applied for, the fullowinK item was noticed which will impact the new
crematory:
• Section 814.6.1 (UMC) states that metal chimneys of commercial and industrial-type
incinerators shall extend at least 3' above roofs measured from the highest point at
which the metal chimney passes through the roof. Further, the chimncy shall cxtend
at Icast 10' higher thai any portion of a building within 25'.
The chimney could be raised to any given height in order to comply with the cicarances
of the existing building. However, as the parking lot adjacent to the funeral homc
(South) is a separate piece of property, we must ensure that no building could ever be
constructed within 25' of the chimney. To accomplish this, a "no-build" easement
(boundary line adjustment, or other approved means) will he required to be in effect for
thc issuance of the mechanical perniit. The ease.ment should be recorded through the
Snohomish Counry Auditors Oftice.
If you have any questions, plcase give me a call at (d25)258-8810.
Sincercly,

ny R.
