The last capital project required by the Department of Ecology Consent Decree is <br /> presently under construction and will provide for the collection of methane gas originating from the Landfill. <br /> An increase in Solid Waste Charges is necessary to complete Department of Ecology required landfill site <br /> remediation projects, continue landfill compliance monitoring, and reduce interfund debt liability.
