One of the significant bottlenecks
is the limit on water production flow rates imposed by the existing clearwell. Design of a second 5 million
gallon clearwell at the water filter plant needs to begin this year to maintain expansion goals for the plant.
The existing clearwell is limited to 120 million gallons a day flow through rate. A second clearwell needs to
be constructed so the filter plant capacity can be increased beyond this limit. The new clearwell will also
address issues related to new disinfection rules.
RECOMMENDATION (Exact action requested of Council):
Authorize advertisement for Request for Qualifications (RFQ) from consultants for the new WFP Clearwell
No. 2 project.
S:UMcClelA WFP_Clearwell_No_2\RFQ-Ad\Council_Agenda-WFP_Clearwel_No_2.doc
