t.
EXHIBIT A - SCOPE OF WORK
The following Scope Of Work details the corrosion control tasks to be completed for the
City of Everett Pipeline 2 Replacement Phase 8A project. The work of this project
includes the replacement of approximately 2,500 lineal feet of 48-inch diameter steel
pipeline located between South Lake Stevens Road and SR 9.
This Scope Of Work is based on the assumption that the existing impressed current
cathodic protection systems Iocated along the pipeline route will provide the required
protective current to the replacement pipeline. The work associated with the following
Task Items will commence upon the City of Everett's Notice to Proceed.
TASK 1: Initial Preparation and Field Data Collection
1. Review Geotechnical Investigation report submitted by Zipper Zeman Associates
dated January 12, 2004.
2. Review available preliminary project drawings and specifications.
3. Investigate as to the presence of foreign pipelines crossings.
4. Collect in-situ soil resistivity data along pipeline route.
5. Collect soil samples to perform saturated soil resistivity testing. Submit soil
samples to laboratory to test for levels of chlorides, sulfates, and pH.
6. Perform impressed current testing. to determine if existing cathodic protection
systems will provide the required protective current to the new pipeline.
7. Verify proper operation of existing test stations (test lead continuity, reference
electrode calibration, etc).
8. Test existing pipelines for possible AC influence from overhead power lines
located in the pipeline ROW.
TASK 2: Engineering Design
1. Provide Initial and Final Corrosion Control Engineering Design package.
including specifications and drawings to the City of Everett.
2. Review final design package.
3. Provide contractor submittal review.
TASK 3: Installation Support
1. Provide corrosion control equipment field installation inspection services.
2. Conduction cathodic protection equipment checkout and commissioning,
including impressed current cathodic protection system adjustment as required.
Submit letter report to City of Everett including commissioning data, conclusions.
recommendations, and photographs of construction.
A. 4
