The replacement will occur over several phases. The work under this phase (Phase 8A)will consist <br /> of replacing approximately 2,500 feet of 48-inch diameter steel pipe (pipeline 2) located within the <br /> City's ROW between highway 9 and S. Lake Stevens Road. Transmission Line 2 is buried and at 75 <br /> years old is beyond its useful life. The section being replaced has developed two leaks last year and the <br /> pipe shows severe corrosion. The project is currently under design with construction anticipated in the <br /> fall of 2004. <br /> RECOMMENDATION (Exact action requested of Council): <br /> Authorize the Mayor to sign the Professional Services Agreement with Northwest Corrosion Engineering to <br /> perform corrosion design for the Water Transmission Line 2 - Phase 8A replacement project. <br /> r <br /> v <br />
