Expenditure Required $543,000.00 Account Number(s): Amount Budgeted $ -0- Additional Required $543,000.00 Facilities Construction Fund 342, Program 009 DETAILED SUMMARY STATEMENT: The Facilities Department requests approval of a Capital Improvement Ordinance to fund the design and construction of the Council Chambers Improvement Project. The purpose of this project is to enhance the TV broadcast of Council Meetings, upgrade the existing audiovisual capabilities, and provide various technology improvements. The City's Legal Department has determined that revenue from the Comcast Franchise Agreement can fund the portion of the scope of work, which enhances the TV broadcast. The other source of funds will be CIP4. A breakdown of the required funding is as follows: Comcast $396,000 CIP4 $146,600 TOTAL $543,500 RECOMMENDATION (Exact action requested of Council): Adopt the proposed Ordinance to create the Council Chambers Improvement Project, Fund 342, Program 009 in the amount of$543,500.00. 42
