Graff voted in favor of the variance <br /> wliile b7r. Champion was opposed. The reasons for granting the <br /> variance are as follocas: <br /> 1. Th� proposed new structure will not be detrimental to the <br /> surrounding area. <br /> 2. There will be no adverse effects on the neighborhood. <br /> 3. The other three corners of the intersection are not required <br /> to have yard setbacks . <br /> In granting the variance on yard setbacY.s , the Board stipulated <br /> that a sideyard of 10 feet must be maintained on the east <br /> side of the property as indicated by the applicant as being <br /> their intention. <br /> A hearing was held on the application of Dr. Wendt requesting <br /> permission to extend a deck 4 to 5 feet into the North side <br /> yard on the S.E. Ingram and unanimously <br /> carried to grant the applicants request for the following reasons : <br /> 1. There will be no adverse effect on the surrounding area. <br /> 2. This will permit better utilization of the land area. <br /> 3. Because of the 60 foot width of 40th Street and the <br /> deadening of this street at the rcar of the subject <br /> property no appreciable effect would be forthcoming on <br /> traffic movement. <br /> On motion the meeting adjourned at 9 :10 p.m. May 3, 1971. <br /> F.
