i Ted Budden From: Ted Budden Sent: Tuesday,lune 17, 2014 2:39 PM To: Kevin Fagerstrom Subject: RE:4220 Colby Kevin, I looked into the concerns with the exterior stainvay at 4220 Colby Ave. Here are mv findings and determinations. 1.The exterior stairv�ay has been constructed without required permits and approvals.This is a violation oi section 114.1 of the IBC. 2.The stairway risers and treads have incorrect dimensions as required by settion 1009.7.2 of the IBC. 3.The stair guards(rails)are too low.This is a violation of section 10131 and SO]3.3 of the IBC. 4.Openings exist at the stairway risers in excess of code requirements. Section 1013.4 IBC S.The stairway is constructed with a vertical rise that exceeds twelve feet(without intermediate landings)this is a viofation of section lOD9.10 of the 1(3C 6. The stairway is not structurally sound, nor is it properly anchored. This is a violation of section 305.11 ef the IPMC The stainvay structure is Unsafe as defined by IPMC section 108.1.1 Thank you for the opportunity to assist in this matter. I strongly support enforcement action to bring this property into compliance.
