12 <br /> AGREEMENT BEWTWEN CITY OF EVERETT <br /> AND CENTER FOR BATTERED WOMEN <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Everett, along with the Snohomish County <br /> Prosecuting Attorney's Office, applied for and was awarded renewal of STOP <br /> Grant funds form the U.S. Department of Justice, through the State of <br /> Washington Office of Community Development; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Everett is the lead agency for purpose of <br /> administering the funds awarded to the community; and <br /> WHEREAS, the STOP Grant funding will provide an ongoing opportunity <br /> for the Snohomish County Prosecuting Attorney's Office to promote awareness <br /> of domestic violence, increase responsiveness, support victims and work toward <br /> holding offenders accountable; <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, the parties agree as follows: <br /> 1. Parties. This Agreement is made by and between the CITY OF <br /> EVERETT, a municipal corporation (the "City"), and the Snohomish County <br /> Center for Battered Women, a nonprofit corporation ( the Contractor). <br /> 2. Purpose. The purpose of the Agreement is to define <br /> responsibilities and obligations of the parties relating to use of STOP Grant <br /> funds. <br /> 3. Term. This Agreement shall commence upon execution of the <br /> parties and shall be effective from October 1, 2003 through September 30, 2004, <br /> unless earlier terminated as provided herein. This Agreement is renewable for <br /> up to four additional one-year terms upon mutual agreement of the parties. <br /> Page 1 <br /> 1u5 <br />
