11 <br /> AGREEMENT BETWEEN CITY OF EVERETT AND PROVIDENCE <br /> EVERETT SEXUAL ASSAULT CENTER <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Everett, along with the Snohomish County <br /> Prosecuting Attorney's Office and Center for Battered Women, applied for and <br /> was awarded renewal of STOP Grant funds from the U.S. Department of Justice, <br /> through the State of Washington Office of Community Development; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Everett is the lead agency for purposes of <br /> administering the funds awarded to this community; and <br /> WHEREAS, the STOP Grant funding will provide an ongoing opportunity <br /> for the Snohomish County Prosecuting Attorney's Office and Center for Battered <br /> Women to promote awareness of domestic violence, increase responsiveness, <br /> support victims and work toward holding offenders accountable; <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, the parties agree as follows: <br /> 1. Parties. This Agreement is made by and between the CITY OF <br /> EVERETT, a municipal corporation (the "City"), and Providence <br /> Everett Sexual Assault Center, a non-profit corporation (the <br /> "Contractor"). <br /> 2. Purpose. The purpose of this Agreement is to define responsibilities <br /> and obligations of the parties relating to use of STOP Grant funds. <br /> 3. Term. This Agreement shall commence upon execution of the parties <br /> and shall be effective from October 1, 2003, through September 30, <br /> 2004, unless earlier terminated as provided herein. This Agreement <br /> is renewable for up to four additional one-year terms upon mutual <br /> agreement of the parties. <br /> 4. Termination. This Agreement may be terminated upon the mutual <br /> agreement of the parties, upon 30 days notice in the event of failure <br /> of grant funding,or as provided elsewhere in this Agreement. <br /> 5. Amendments. This Agreement may be amended only upon written <br /> agreement of the parties, executed in the same manner as provided <br /> by law for the execution of this Agreement. <br /> 91 Page 1 <br />
