WHEREAS, along with the lack of maintenance resources the City is hard-pressed to <br /> make capital improvements in the transportation network, as evidenced by the fact that <br /> less than one-third of the 6-year Transportation Improvement Plan (TIP) funding for <br /> arterial projects, and less than one-quarter of the necessary funding for 6-year TIP <br /> access improvements is in hand; and <br /> WHEREAS, many other cities face similar problems; <br /> NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE EVERETT CITY COUNCIL AND <br /> MAYOR RAY STEPHANSON, THAT: <br /> Section 1. The City of Everett calls upon the Governor and the State Legislature to <br /> provide new direct funding to pay for local transportation infrastructure needs. <br /> Section 2. The City of Everett calls upon the Governor and the State Legislature to <br /> provide new funding options and tools that may be enacted at the local level. <br /> Section 3.
