/IP1 <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 5522 <br /> A RESOLUTION REGARDING DISCOUNTED BULK PARKING RATES <br /> AT EVERPARK GARAGE <br /> WHEREAS,the Everett City Council authorized the Mayor on June 9, 2004 to execute an <br /> agreement with the Downtown Everett Association to manage the Everpark Garage; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Everett City Council approved parking rates at the Everpark Garage on January <br /> 22, 2003 in Resolution No. 5292; and <br /> WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the City to attract and retain businesses in downtown <br /> Everett; and <br /> WHEREAS, attracting and retaining businesses in downtown Everett requires enabling such <br /> businesses to have sufficient parking for their employees and visitors; and <br /> WHEREAS, Resolution No. 5292 does not allow for discounted bulk parking rates; and <br /> WHEREAS, discounted bulk parking rates would assist the City's economic development; <br /> NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br /> EVERETT THAT: <br /> 1. The Downtown Everett Association is authorized as manager of the Everpark Garage to <br /> offer discounted monthly parking rates in bulk to attract and retain businesses in downtown <br /> Everett. <br /> 2. Discounts authorized by this resolution shall apply only to agreements to use at least ten <br /> parking stalls. <br /> 3. Discounts authorized by this resolution may not exceed twenty-five percent(25%) <br /> without further express Council approval. <br /> 4. Discounts authorized by this resolution must be approved by the Mayor or his or her <br /> designee. <br /> 5.
