. <br /> f <br /> /1P**/% 141 <br /> RESOLUTION # 5453 <br /> A RESOLUTION regarding regularly scheduled evening meetings of the City <br /> Council. <br /> WHEREAS, Article III, Section 3.2 of the City of Everett Charter states the City <br /> Council shall meet at least once each week and that one such meeting per month shall <br /> be in the evening after 6:30 p.m.; and <br /> WHEREAS, the same provision of the City of Everett Charter grants the City <br /> Council the authority to schedule additional evening meetings at its discretion; and <br /> WHEREAS, some interested citizens have expressed a desire to have additional <br /> evening meetings to allow greater opportunity to attend and participate in council <br /> meetings; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council conducted a trial period of one additional evening <br /> meeting between December 2003 and February 2004, which resulted in some additional <br /> public attendance; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council wishes to accommodate this increased public <br /> participation. <br /> NOW THEREFORE, be it resolved: <br /> 1. The City Council hereby adopts a new Winter schedule with two evening <br /> meetings per month from October 1 through March 31, to be held on the first and third <br /> Wednesdays of each month beginning at 6:30 p.m. <br /> 2. The City Council hereby adopts a new Summer schedule from April 1 through <br /> September 30, to be held on the third Wednesday of each month beginning at 6:30 <br /> p.m. <br /> PASSED AND APPROVED this 17th day of March 2004. <br /> ////, Ale <br /> Council member Introducing Resolution <br /> 'ncil President <br />
