ti <br /> PROCLAMATION <br /> WHEREAS, the mental health of residents in our community is critically <br /> important to the overall well-being of Everett and Snohomish County; and <br /> WHEREAS, the U.S. Surgeon General estimates that one in five people will <br /> be in need of mental health services during his lifetime, impacting the lives <br /> of those around him; and <br /> WHEREAS, Compass Health is the most comprehensive non-profit <br /> community mental health provider in Northwest Washington, having <br /> continuously served the behavioral health needs of this community for the <br /> past 102 years; and <br /> WHEREAS, May is National Mental Health Month and Compass Health is <br /> conducting its sixth annual art show and reception, "A Diversity of Talents," <br /> in downtown Everett May 10 through 28 to raise awareness of mental health <br /> issues, <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, I, Ray Stephanson, Mayor of the City of Everett, do <br /> hereby proclaim the month of May 2004, as <br /> MENTAL HEALTH MONTH <br /> and call upon community members and organizations to support efforts to <br /> raise awareness of the importance of mental health by attending and <br /> celebrating Compass Health's free art show and reception the evening of <br /> May 13. <br /> Signed this 5th day of May, 2004. <br /> Mayor Ray Stephanson <br />
