4
November 22, 2003
The Snohomish Artist Guild is presenting the second "Pop &Arts"street festival in
downtown Everett, September 11, 12, 2004.
We request the City of Everett close streets September 10th after 7pm to September 12`h
7pm. The street cleaners will run threw after the streets are clear of vendors.
The Closure would be Pacific Avenue to Everett Avenue on Colby Avenue.
We also request to close the intersection at Hewett and Colby Avenues for safety_
SAG would like to ad a beer garden, in the food court area. We would have the folks at
the flying Pig run the beer garden. The times would be noon to 11:00pm on Saturday and
noon to 6pm on Sunday.
Entertainment on the Blues stage in front of The Flying Pig will also run to 11pm
Saturday weather permitting. The liquor board has no problem with this and very much
likes that Joel will be over seeing that part.
The Everett Historic Theater and SAG are talking about having a concert in the theater
Saturday night at 7pm till 9:30pm. The show will be directed to the 30 to 50 year age
group. Some popular artist, I personally would like to bring Jesse Colin Young or The
James Cotton Band.
The only changes are moving the food booths together and port o pots ezer to see.
We will also complete permits for tents just after this request is approved with the Fire
department.
I was hoping to have the permit approved by Christmas as the first of January we need to
send out the invitations to artists. That is the time of the year vendors make their
schedules.
Safety:
We would like to thank the Everett Police for coming out. We really liked the bike cops.
Also the first aid officer. The board really appreciated him coming out. We will plan on
requesting two officers for the time the event'is open to the public. The times would be
Saturday from loam to l 1pm and on Sunday from 10am to 6pm. After the mall is closed
we will hire a local security company to patrol the arts mall.
Visual arts show:
The display and sale will be in the Everett Tower lobby as well as the Henry Cogswell
College Colby Campus lobby. We have the space to hang 75 artists in the 2004 show
thanks to the building owners that are letting us use their space
Stage one:
There will be world music on this stage at Pacific and Colby. We will set it up 80 feet in
from the intersection. This way will have parking for the entertainers to load in and out.
16
