Expenditure Required $ 2,000.00 Account Number(s): UP 3189 Amount Budgeted $ 1,700,000.00 Additional Required $ -0- DETAILED SUMMARY STATEMENT: The Northend Basement Flood Reduction "F"project will replace approximately 6,400 linear feet of combined sewer mains in North Everett. The existing mains are up to 80 years old; have deteriorated; and now have sags, flat slopes, directional misalignment, broken joints, root intrusion, and cracked pipe. The condition of the main lines has contributed to decreased capacity and basement flooding within the project area. Within the project area, approximately 25% of the side sewer stubs have failed within the right of way over the last 15 years. Over half the failures have been within the last 5 years. This project will decrease basement flooding and sewer failures, providing increased reliability of the system. The Professional Services Agreement for the design of this project was approved in November 2003. The design is now complete and the project is ready to bid for construction. RECOMMENDATION (Exact action requested of Council): Authorize a Call for Bids for the construction of the Northend Basement Flood Reduction "F"Project. 12
