Expenditure Required $ -0- Account Number(s): Amount Budgeted $ -0- Additional Required $ -0- DETAILED SUMMARY STATEMENT: The requested action is the first step in the annexation process under the 75%petition method recently reinstated by the Washington State Supreme Court. Acceptance of the 10%petition by City Council will allow the applicant to gather signatures on the 75%petition. At the June 16, 2004 meeting City Council will determine whether Council will: (1) approve the attempted gathering of petition signatures representing 75% of the assessed valuation of properties found within the annexation boundaries as depicted upon the attached map, (2) geographically modify the proposed annexation area, (3)require the adoption of a comprehensive plan for the area proposed for annexation, and(4)require the assumption of existing City indebtedness by owners of property within the proposed annexation area. RECOMMENDATION (Exact action requested of Council): Set June 16, 2004 as the date to consider acceptance of the 10%petition and Notice of Intent submitted by Jeff Moore for the Cascade Highlands Annexation. 22
