Expenditure Required $ 382,000 Account Number(s): 401 Amount Budgeted $ 5,500,000 Additional Required $ -0- DETAILED SUMMARY STATEMENT: R.W.Beck recently completed an engineering study of the capacity and needs of the Evergreen Way pump station at Reservoir 3. The study provided a schedule of improvements required at the pump station to increase the capacity of the pump station and water transmission pipelines in anticipation of increasing demands for water. This engineering contract will provide for the design of upgrades to the pump station, including upgrades to existing pumps and electrical equipment, adding two new pumps, expanding the pump station building to accommodate the new equipment,providing for electrical connection to a mobile emergency generator, and improvements to the suction piping from Reservoir 3 to the pump station. The contract will also provide for engineering support during construction of the improvements. RECOMMENDATION (Exact action requested of Council): Authorize the Mayor to sign the Professional Services Agreement for engineering services to be provided by R.W.
