Based on this report the City Council authorized the Mayor to <br /> sign a contract with Brown and Caldwell to design the needed facilities and produce Plans and Specifications <br /> for construction. The Plans and Specifications are now complete. The City Council also authorized the <br /> mayor to sign a contract with Hoffman Construction Company of Washington, using an alternative project <br /> delivery method called General Contractor/Construction Manager(GC/CM). Hoffman has worked with our <br /> Design Engineer to develop the Plans and Specifications. The Maximum Allowable Construction Cost has <br /> been negotiated with Hoffman. Public Works is prepared to proceed with construction of this phase of the <br /> work. <br /> Approx $1,800,000 has already been spent for Design and producing the Plans and Specifications. <br /> $40,956,477 will be spent for direct construction costs and approximately$2,243,523 for Construction <br /> Management, Inspection and Design Services. <br /> RECOMMENDATION(Exact action requested of Council): Authorize the Mayor to sign a construction <br /> contract with Hoffinan Construction Company of Washington for construction of the Water Pollution <br /> Control Facility Expansion, Phase A in the Amount of$40,956,477. <br /> S:\TMarks\WPCF\Construction\ICCAMSTR HCC Construction.DOC <br /> 10 <br />
