The new sewer main will redirect Lift Station No. 36 flows that are <br /> currently pumped to Lift Station No. 24 to the South End Interceptor. In September 2003,the Council <br /> authorized the Mayor to sign a Utility Construction Agreement. The Utility Construction Agreement <br /> estimated the costs to construct the improvements based on the State's Engineering Estimate. <br /> On February 25, 2005, Bids were received for the SR 527 Widening project. Based on these bids and <br /> engineering considerations, the cost for the sewer main increased by approximately$257,000 to a total cost <br /> of approximately$832,000. Supplement 1 to the Utility Construction Agreement covers this increased cost <br /> to construct the Sewer Main. The Supplement also estimates the increased cost of water line modifications <br /> resulting from the widening project that will be paid for by the State. <br /> RECOMMENDATION (Exact action requested of Council): <br /> Authorize the Mayor to sign Supplement 1 to the WSDOT Utility Construction Agreement for SR 527, 132nd <br /> to 112th Street SE Widening at a cost of$257,000 to the City. <br /> 7 <br />
