Additional design services include <br /> design for exhaust fans, piping changes for water pump, electrical refeed for pump station#1, and soil <br /> anchors for alum building and foundation. These are required due to issues discovered during construction, <br /> for an additional fee of$48,000, which brings the total fee to $232,541 <br /> Amendment No. 1 addressed additional requirements associated with these facilities which were not foreseen <br /> in the original scope. These include providing for bulk storage of liquid polymer and related piping and <br /> instrumentation, and providing for backup power to the new plant water pumping station. The fee for <br /> Amendment No. 1 was $39,900 <br /> The 2002 Water Filtration Plant (WFP) Facilities Plan includes project recommendations to maintain and <br /> improve operations at the plant. Recommended projects included the plant water pumping system, and the <br /> alum storage facility, which were addressed in Brown & Caldwell's original contract for a fee of$144,641. <br /> RECOMMENDATION (Exact action requested of Council): <br /> Authorize the Mayor to sign Amendment No. 2 to the Professional Services Agreement with Brown & <br /> Caldwell in the amount of$48,000 for design services for the Water Filter Plant. 14 <br />
