The last plan was adopted in April 2001 and we need to begin the planning process now to have an approved document April 2007. Staff had advertised for a consultant in February 2005 to help us in the preparation of the new Comprehensive Water Plan. Four submittals were received and two consultants (HDR and CH2M Hill) were short-listed and interviewed. The five-member selection committee selected HDR to perform the work. The selection committee included Council member Stonecipher, Engineering Superintendent Jim Miller, Maintenance Superintendent Mark Sadler, Water Filter Plant representative Del Nestegard and Utilities Senior Engineer Souheil Nasr(Project Manager). RECOMMENDATION (Exact action requested of Council): Authorize the mayor to sign a Professional Services Agreement with HDR,Inc. to prepare the Comprehensive Water Plan for the City of Everett in the amount of$600,000. 83
