• <br /> 13 <br /> Description of Other Projects Recommended for <br /> Community Development Block Grant Funding in 2005 <br /> 1. Interfaith Association — Shelter Improvements <br /> The Interfaith Association of Snohomish County provides an emergency shelter <br /> for families. These funds will be used for minor rehabilitation of the shelter. <br /> Recommended 2005 appropriated funds $28,865.00 <br /> 2. Housing Hope — 2503 Howard Acquisition <br /> Housing Hope will use these funds to acquire and permenantly finance and <br /> existing 9-unit affordable housing development located at 2503 Howard Street. <br /> Recommended 2005 appropriated funds $200,000.00 <br /> 3. Housing Hope — New Century Village <br /> Housing Hope will use these funds to develop a 25-unit affordable housing <br /> project adjacent to the New Century House property in south-central Everett. <br /> Recommended 2005 appropriated funds $260,000.00 <br /> 4. Community Development Block Grant - Administration & Planning <br /> Administration is an important aspect of the CDBG program, making sure of the <br /> timely completion of projects and proper management of subgrantees. <br /> The planning aspect of the CDBG funding complements the physical <br /> improvements in the neighborhoods by promoting appropriate land use, historic <br /> preservation, and economic development planning. <br /> Recommended 2005 appropriated funds $175,900.00 <br /> 5. Neighborhood Improvement Projects <br /> The City of Everett has allocated funds to the following Everett Neighborhoods: <br /> Riverside, Port Gardner, and Delta. The neighborhoods were surveyed in order <br /> to set priorities for the spending of CDBG funds. The neighborhood groups then <br /> develop strategies for spending the funds according to those priorities. How <br /> many of the priorities are completed depends on how far the funds will go, not all <br /> the priorities listed will get assistance. <br /> The funds for Neighborhood Improvement Projects are recommended to be <br /> spent as follows: <br /> 8 5 <br />
