IJe are sorry that our sign permit on the subject building was misfiled. it is correct that you did have a sign permit to erect the sign. Regardless of the issued permit, a requirement of the pernit is tliat the descriUed �.ork of the permit comply with applicable ordinances of the City of Everett. The qur.s[ioned sign does not comply. �ur sign Ordivance No 4041 requires that roof si�ns have a clear passage under or around zll signs over four (4'? Feet above [he roof. The � passage shall be [hree (3'1 feet wide nnd six (6') feet high. Such passages shall be located not farther apart than fifty /50') linial feet of horizon[al rooE sign extension. Also the �ign ;;hall be securr.ly ancl�ored to the frame of the building. Such anchorage sh311 be designed to resist a 20 pound per square foot wind load or. vertical surfaces. it is our opinion, that the anchorage does not meet these requirements , unless , calculations are submitted justifying the present me[hod of anchorage. [de vill amend our requiremencs to remove the sign if you will comply w.ith the above. A well inarked, easily opened section of the sign of the proper size and loca[ion will be permitted to substitute for the clear passage. Pr.operly designed lag screws or bolts will be permitted to be installed to provide anchorage. The>e corrections shall be made as required by April lst. A new permit fer; will not be charged.
