Specifically, the exis6n; service entrance oil circuit breaker experienced severe damage anc:
rendemd it inoperaUve. The elecUical system, in addition to the damaged ciuit bieaker, includes an a's
gap fused disconnect switch on the service entrance which is physically located within the Snohomisli
County P.U.D.'s fenced transformer yard.
The temporary repair will consist of total replacement of electrical conductors, (2) #350 MCIvI
conductors/phase, from the air gap fused disconnect switch to the motor wntrol center buss bars, thus
bypassing the damaged oil circuit breaker. Over cuirent protecdon will be provided by the air gap fused
disconnect switch. This temporary repair has becn determined to be not acceptable as a permanent
repair due to the relative inaccessibility (inside locked and fenced transformer yard) of the functional
disconnect acavator.
The Alderwood Water District will make final repair of the facility, by making approved improvements
ro We electrical service in accordance with Nadonal Electric Codes and as required by the State during
the winter cf 1990/1991. The medium voltage (2400 volt) system equipment requires 12-16 weeks
manufacturing Gme prior to delivery to the site. The District's water system demands during the
summer months will make shutdown and pairs impossible un61 the fall or early winter of this year.
The aztached single line diagram pmsents emergency repairs to be made az this time.
If you have any questions, do not hesitate to call me.
Vcry Uvly yours,
i
Har F..
