Floor wax l�ad been epilled and was <br />draining into a catch baein located in your parking lot. As you can see <br />from the enclosed map, your site is in the Pigeon Creek #1 drainage <br />basin. Therefore, the catch basins on your eite drain to Pigeon Creek <br />Yl. <br />Pigeon Creek #1 has received national attention due to the efforts of <br />community groupa involved in the Adopt-A-Stream program, particularly <br />Jackeon Elementary School. These groups have "adopter]" Pigeon Creek #1, <br />and annually plant salmon fry in the stream as well as perfurm other <br />enhancement projects (please see attached article). <br />The succese of the Adopt-A-Stream program is dependent upon the <br />cooperation rf private citizens and bueinesa owners located within the <br />drainage bas:.n. In order to keep the water quality of the stream <br />eatiafactory �`or fish life, everyone located in the drainage basin must <br />keep pollutants out of the stream and out of the storm system which <br />drains into tha• stream. <br />Please do your test to protect Pigeon Creek #1 by letting your customers <br />know that their actions directly affect a salmon•-ber.ring stream. Catch <br />basin etenciling could be utilized to indicate the ultimate destination <br />of pollutanta entering the catch basins. Join the efforts of the Adopt- <br />A-Stream program and the City of Everett in improving the water quality <br />o�'.
