Hiigh Warren
Jerry Carroll
Don Dackins
I, f .'.',(tc.
Cc/ib -
\
• 6f
 y G -7 8'C'!
 '
Village Square Shopping Center, Rainier Drive Accesa '%C
fliYUl iVFRLII !'l(_IIEi A':4SIIIIJGiJ11
As you know, there have been citizen complaints concerning the drivecvay
permit issued for the rear of Village quare parking lot fronting on
Rainier Drive at the northeast corner. As you also know, Rainier Drive
accesa was denied by City Council on Auguat 23, 1978, but the doar was
left open or negotiation (Exhibitrs I& II). After negotiation (exhibit
IIIO, we accepted Mr. Wexlor's agreement on restrictions for use (exhibit
IVp and issued a permit to construct a dirvewa: on March 11. We realized
at ihe time, there would he complaints, however, it was felt the drive-
ray was reasonable. Ultimately, Rainier Drive will be imnroved from 75th
northerly to Ttereve Drive (exhibit V). It is my opinio that our beat
approach is to allow the neighborhood to brinq thea.r concerns Lefore the
Council and move toward ultimate completion of Rainier Drive from 75th
to Ttereve Urive. While this isn't an ideal solution, it is reasonable
considerir.g the very li.mited frontage on Lvergreen Way that cannot accom-
odate an ideal separate entrance and exit configuration.
cc:Ror.
