Storm Water Detention System at 601.13.ver green - Everett Dear Mr. Roodhouse: Cascade Shopping Center .M To ensure proper stormwater management, the City of Everett Engineering Department will be routinely inspecting privately owned storm water detention systems on a yearly basis. Careful attention must be given to the maintenance of these drainage systems. It Is the property owner's responsibility to regularly have all the catch basins in the system cleared of sediment, in particular the catch basin housing the flow restrictor. if the restrictor becomes clogged, the detention system will not function and the potential for flooding and for pollution of the receiving water body increases. The drainage system at the above address was recently inspected by City staff members. We found that both restrictor catch basins need to be cleaned. The pond restric- tor Is not equipped with a chain to control the slide gate on the outlet pipe. It is essential that this chain be installed so that the gate can be open from outside of the catch basin in the event of a flood. This work must start within 30 days of your receipt of this letter.
