Careful attention must be given to the maintenance <br />of these drainage systems. It Is the property owner's responsibility to regularly <br />have all the catch basins in the system cleared of sediment, In particular the <br />catch basin housing the flow restrictor. If the restrictur becomes clogged, the <br />detention system will not function and the potential for flooding and for pollution <br />of the receiving water body increases. <br />The drainage system at the above address was recently inspected by City staff <br />members. <br />We found that both restrictor catch basins need to be cleaned. The pond restric- <br />tor Is not equipped with a chain to control the slide gate on the outlet pipe. It is <br />essential that this chain be installed so that the gate can be open from outside of <br />the catch basin in the event of a flood. <br />This work must start within 30 days of your receipt of this letter.
