Mr. John Jinhong
Page 3
February 20, 1981
11. a. All exposed concrete masonry walls must be covered with drywall,
smooth plaster, tile, plastic laminates or any other smooth, non-
absorbent, and easily cleanable material (lcitchen and restrooms only).
Epoxy enamel masonry paint does not give a smooth wall finish.
b. High splash areas (food. preparation, d.shwashing, scullery, and rest-
rooms) should have more resistant finishes than just paint. Even
though painted wall finishes are approved in kitchens, they are not
too resistant to high wear and moisture.
c. Walls and ceilings in the kitchen and restrooms must be light colored
to aid in the distribution of light so as to help facilitate thorough
cleaning.
d. Kitchen ceiling tile should be cleanable.
12. The quarry tile floor (kitchen and rstrooms) must have a cove base.
13. If the mezzaine floor is used for storage, it must have a smooth,.
nonabsorbent and easily cleanable floor and wall finishes (not in-
dicated or layout plan).
14. The back assembly of the cocktail bar must be an enclosed structure
------no exposed 2" x 4" or 2" x 2" structures.
15. Adequate facilities must be provided for the orderly storage of
employee's clothi.ng and personal belongings.
16. Provisions must be made for the sanitary disposal of leakage and
drainage from the garbag and refuse area.
17. The plan review vas made from information you presented to our o£fice.
Therefore, should there be any major changes and/or additions to
your layout plans and equipment specifications, you must notify the
Snohomish }Iealth District of the changes.
18. Ct should be pointed out that the health department approval of the
i'inish installation (equipment and iacilities) is subject to the
f'inal field inspection. Therefore, when ready, you should call for
the f zal field i_nspection.
19. Iii 1980, the Snohomish Health District's Board of Health established
a plan review charge for review of layout plans and specifications.
Tte fee schedule is $25.00 per hour to maximum of $250.00. Your
tctal review time will exceed ten (10) hours. Therefore,,there will
be a$250.00 charge. The fee must be paid prior to issuing a food-
service permit to the restaurant.
