Penney Catalog Store TI <br />ST-041 <br />7 �D5 F,�a��eh <br />In reyard to ��our concern on the cutting of existing span deck <br />wall panels and the installation of hollow metal doors and <br />frames we submit the following calculations from the original <br />shell buildinc submittal. Additionally, in consultation with <br />our structural engineer, we state that the reinforcing steel for <br />jambs and heads, and associated solid grouting are to provide <br />adeauate anchorage to the door frame and nrotect exnosed cavity <br />walls from traffic damage only. Structurally, for a four (4) <br />foot wide by seven (7) foot high opening in eighteen (18) foot <br />high by eight (e) inch thick snan deck nanels, the nanels <br />integral web and face construction are sufficient to provide <br />lintel sunport. Tensile steel cable elements in the panels <br />serve only for transnort and erection reinforcement. The fact <br />that the opening is across nanel joints is of no conseauence <br />given the above integral design criteria. <br />If you ^equire further data or information alease do not <br />hesitate to contact us.
