To Haggens at Everett Mall
FROM Ron Cameron
DATE October 27, 1983
SUBJECT plan review
CITY OF EVERETT, EVERET7 WqSHINGTON
PVE' CE tt
-'.7c
the driveway radius shown as 25 ft should be 35 per the Everett dall improvement.
The signalized driveway is where future bus access and pedestrian crossing activity
will occur. The site has NO pedestrian access to the tiuilding from the intersection
except to walk thru the parking area,,,a ped route to provide separated movement
from the intersection and the bldg & back should be a part of the plan
the eastern ldriveway should have a stopline and stop sign for the exiti.ng right turn
only; the centerline should be yellow; an "ONLY" legend and arrow shown on the exiting
lane.
a sriping plan for the signalized driveway needs to be included, An analysis of
future traffic movements would likely show the inside exiting lane to be predominantly
used for left turns and the outside lane for rights & thrus.
Crosswalks should be striped across each of the driveways parallel to Everett Mall Way
to carry ped traffic and show center motorists where they'll be.(peds are
prohibited on the east/south side due to the I-5 access.)
The designer may choose to take a closer look at the five leggecl intersection created
at the signalized driveway meeting with the two circumferential aisleways and the two
aisles running north-south toward the main door...striping and signing could eliminate
future collisions/questions of"who's going Next" so the right-of-way is assigned clearly.
,
