Given: A 1.50 ace site located with the Glenwood Creek
drainage basin. The slope of overland flow is 2%. The
existing ground cover is woods/forest. The proposed land
use is a five lot single family short subdivision. An
interior street with approxiaately 13,00a. square feet of
impervious surface will be constructed.
Solution: From table 1, the allowable release rate is .002 cfs
per acre or .003 cfs for the entire site. This is less
than .13 cfs, so a release rate of .0867 cfs per ace is
used to determine the detention requirements. The area
of impervious surface is 13,000 + (5)(2800) or 27,000
square feet. Therefore, there will be .71 acres of
impervious sur=ace and 0.88 acres of lawn or landscaping.
From table 7 the detenticn requirement is (1119)(.80) +
(4834) (.62_.;),or 3982 cf.
