In addition,the base of the wall at the reaz of the store was found to have been
displaced approximately 6"westwazd from its original position on the concrete floor.
The 2-2x12 header was checked and was:ound to be 80-90%overstressed when loaded !
with loads required by the 1997 Uniform Building Code. We recommend the exising 2- i
2x12 header be removed and replaced with a new 5-1i8"x10-1/2" glu-laminated beam.
The details of the connections and installation of the new beam aze not included with this
document. It is also our understanding that the repair of the remaining damage will
require no review or in-put from JRP Engineering.
Calculation sheets 1 of 2 and 2 of 2, re;arding the adequacy of the window header, have
been included with this letter.
020N Itr I.doc y0 Ncnh 107th Str=e, Suite 37 • ecttle, Washingtcn 98133 I{
Tel.200 361-7100 • Fax(2063623234
Toll rree(6?i) 229-5009
