The supports for the window header,as well as two supports for a beam located neaz the center of the store,were missing as a result a car impact that occurred on December 22, 2001. In addition,the base of the wall at the reaz of the store was found to have been displaced approximately 6"westwazd from its original position on the concrete floor. The 2-2x12 header was checked and was:ound to be 80-90%overstressed when loaded ! with loads required by the 1997 Uniform Building Code. We recommend the exis�ing 2- i 2x12 header be removed and replaced with a new 5-1i8"x10-1/2" glu-laminated beam. � The details of the connections and installation of the new beam aze not included with this document. It is also our understanding that the repair of the remaining damage w�ill require no review or in-put from JRP Engineering.
