Upon closer investigation the smol:e was fowid to be Storage Unit C55 <br /> on fire. Gngine G called for a full comme�cial response. � <br /> Lngine 6 contained the fire to the unit of origin and two exposure units on eithcr side. The arca of origin is � <br /> approximately 1/3 do�m from the west end. <br /> F,xtcrior Exnmination <br /> Building C is a largc metal clad, mcial &nmed mclal storage building wi�h 8-foot- widc roll-up doors on the <br /> units. <br /> The unit rcntcd is 9'�vidc x Gdccp x 9' high. No power ro dic units. Therc is elcctrical �onduit running ' <br /> Icngth oCthe building for exterior lighting. i <br /> The unit ti�as E;acked approximately 5-G leet high, and the contents werc removed Io estinguish the firc. It� .�,s <br /> nf mnst char and bw n includcd a "fV set, computcrs, battery-operaicd tools, a chair, a small propane torch, <br /> mulliple elechical cords, and many forms of diffcrent ID and personal rccords. <br /> Inlcrior Examinalion <br /> The walls of the unit were 4' x 8' MUF plywood. Thcy wcrc also removcd during exting�iisiuncnt. Aflcr <br /> burn pattern analysis and a systematic processing nnd reconstruction of the inlerior of the unit, it was <br /> detennined that ihe fire originated approximately 24" fi•om lhe rolLup door ncar thc cast wall ncar ihe Roor. � <br /> Direction�l fire patterns were observed from oxidation to the roll-up door and surraunding metaL The arcas , <br /> of origin near tlie wall had some pink plastic that matched a melted plastic bin foimd in the contents.
