W.
Edmonds, WA 98025
Reference: Washington Creit Union, Everett Hranch
Stormwater Discharge To SR 99 (Pacific Highway)
Dear Mr. Kearney:
' In accordance with your request of May 24, 1993, Michael P. McCann of
Dovetail Structures inspected the above mentioned site for floodinq
potential downstream due to stormwater lischarge from the proposed
stormwater detention system.
The existing catch basin into which the proposed detention system is to
discharge is a Type I with 12" concrete pipe entering and leaving at a
good slope. The line appears to proceed south to one of the existinq
catch basins north of 112th, where the line may cross SR 99. As some of
the existing catch basins do corrtain appreciable amounts of silt, and the
tops of most of the catch basins could not be removeci, it was hard to
determine exactly vhere the storm line proceeded. Moreover, the traffic
on SR 99 is not conducive to one's health when peering down manhole
covers, so i could perform only a cursory inspection along SR 99.
However, it was evident from the lay of the land, that any flow fron SR
99 due to this project coald not flow parallel to 112th to the west of SR
99. Additionally, the existing Type II catch basin in front of the new
tehicle Emission Station on 112th has no lines entering it from the East.
Theref.'ore, no flooding of 112th is possible due to this project.
It miqht be well to note, though, that some of the existing catch basins
south of the proposed project to 112th do need to be cleaned of silt.
The land to the west is undeveloped with spotty grass cover close to the
road bareing much of the soil. This fact, coupled with sandinq efforts
of past winters, has undoubtedly contributed to the siltation of the
catch basins mentioned above.
If you have any questions, please call me at 742-0861.
SINCERELY,
,EL P.
OW H C'
cti, n C>•y
 D I
h
1Wf1 t-
p,kCp
SSaNALE`•`C'C
MICHAEL P.
