A Type I hood is required to have 18 inch clearance from combustible wall constntction, <br /> per IMC 507.9. However, by providing a noncombustible metal stud wall with the <br /> stainless steel facing, or a protective assembly per IMC Table 308.6, the clearance to the <br /> combustible construction of the exterior wall of the building can be reduced to 6 inchcs. <br /> This assembly sftould be indicated behind and extending 18 inches beyond the Type I <br /> hood. Note that thc top of this noncombustible assembiy should remain open for the <br /> transmission of heat. <br /> . enc , . . . OIL IN� �2�C�06 <br /> 3. A fire suppression permit application is required for the Type I hood, per IMC 509.1 and f R+►'�I��-`0 <br /> 507.2.1. The suppression system should activate the building alarm system required by SEE <br /> the Tenant Improvement Building Pemtit B0609-048. �tq�N� <br /> 4. Iiinges are required at upblast fans for Type I hoods, per IMC 506.53, with flex�ble, <br /> weatherproof cable. <br /> All required submittals must be of sufficient detail and contain sufficient inforn�ation to ensure <br /> construction in compliance with all adopted codes, including: the 2003 Intemational Building <br /> Code(IBC), the 2003 Intemational Mechanical Code(IMC), the Washington State Energy Code, <br /> (WSEC) 2004, and the Washington State Ventilation & Indoor Air Quality Code (VIAQ) 2003, <br /> as amended by the State of Waslungton, and as adopted by thP City of Everett.
