.
,
P/BL/ //
October 19, 2001
Frank Molitor
1560 - 140' Avenue NE
Suite 100
Bellewe, WA 98005
RE: Owner: BMG 111
Job Address: 1120 Evergreen Way #F
Dear Mr. Molitor:
In response to your application for a construction permit, your plans have been examined
and you are advised that the issuance of a permit is being withheld for the reasons listed
below. These comments address building issues only, additional revisions or additions
may be required by other departtnents (such as Utilities, Planning or Fire). All
references refer to the 1997 Uniform Building Code, as amended by the State of
Washington and/or Washington State Energy Code 2001 Edition, unless stated
otherwise.
In order for the processing of your application to continue, it will be necessary to
provide the Building Division with two complete new sets of drawings retlecting the
corrections requested.
1. Section 2902.1.1. and Table 29-A of the State Amendment to the UBC require a
minimum of two water closets per restroom.
2. Section 2903.4.1 of the above mentioned code reyuires a drinking fountain.
Sections 1105.4.1 and 1106.13 require two drinking fountains (one accessible to
the disabled and one at standard height.)
3. UBC 1007.2.5 prohibits all of the doors to the outside to have a latch or lock
unless it is panic hardware. The panic hardware may be omitted from the main
exit if a key-locking device is used in place of the panic hardware, provided there
is a readily visible durable sign adjacent to the doorway stating, "THIS DOOR
MUST REMAIN UNLOCKED DURING BUSINESS HOURS." The sign shall
be in letters not less that 1 inch (25mm) high on a conuasting background. When
unlocked, the single door or both leaves of a pair of doors must be free to swing
without operation of any latching device. Manually operated edge or surface-
mounted flush bolts and surface bolts or any other type of device that may be
used to close or restrain the door other than by operation of ihe locking device
shall not be used. The main exit can only be the one in the upper right corner of
the floor plan.
CITY OF EVERETT• 3200 Cedar Street • EveretL WA 98201 • (425)257-8800 • Fax(425) 257-8856
