PLANN/NO AND Allan Giffen
COMM&N/TY BEVEL OPMENT Director
CITY OF EVERETT
NOTICE OF PLANNING COMMISSION
PUBLIC WORKSHOP
Adult Retail Land Use Regulations
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City of Everett Planning Commission will hold a
Public Workshop concerning potential changes in the City's land use regulations for adult
retail establishments. The Public Workshop will be held on Tuesday, October 19, 2004,
beginning at 6:30 p.m. in the Planning Commission Hearing Room, located on the 8`t'
Floor of the Wall Street Building, 2930 Wetmore Avenue. The public is welcome to attend
and provide comments to the Planning Commission. No final decision will be made at
the Public Workshop.
The Everett City Council has adopted a moratorium on the establishment of any new adult
retail establishment within the city in order to allow the Planning Commission and Council
to determine if new regulations regarding the location of adult retail establishments should
be enacted. The City's zoning regulations currently allow adult retail businesses to locate
anywhere retail uses are allowed. The City Council has asked the Planning Commission to
determine if additional restrictions are needed to protect sensitive land uses, including such
uses as residential areas, schools, churches, daycare centers, parks, and other uses from the
adverse impacts of adult retail businesses. The purpose of this workshop is to provide
information that the Planning Commission requested at its September 7, 2004 workshop on
this subject.
Persons with questions should contact Allan Giffen at (425) 257-8731.
Date: /0 -- fl- 04 -
We
We strive to provide special accommodations for individuals with disabilities. Please
contact our office at (425) 257-8731 as soon as possible if special accommodations are
needed.
CITY OF EVERETT • 2930 Wetmore Avenue, Suite 8-A • Everett, WA 98201 • (425) 257-8731 9 Fax (425) 257-8742
