MAJOR CRIMES <br />The crimes of Criminal Homicide, Rape, Robbery, Aggravated <br />Assault, Residence and Non -Residence Burglary, Larceny and <br />Vehicle Theft are reported on a mouthy basis by the Indian- <br />apolis Police Department as Major Crimes. During the period <br />of this study ( 1978 - 1982 ), there were 175,796 major crimes <br />reported in the IPD District with an annual high of 37,220 <br />occuring in 1980.
