When a customer brings an old battery into the store, follow these procedures: <br /> 1. Examine the battery for leaks or damages. <br /> 2. Log the battery on WITT-JR. as a core return. <br /> 3. Wear proper protective equipment (eye protection and battery gloves) when <br /> handling batteries. <br /> 4. Check again for leaks or damages before placing the battery posts are turned <br /> away from each other to avoid contact. <br /> 5. Stack used batteries on a pallet, and keep it in the back room. <br /> . Load these batteries on the truck on delivery day to be returned to the DC. <br /> Follow these steps when returning batteries: <br /> - Stack batteries no more than two layers high on pallet. <br /> - Stack the batteries with all of the side posts facing in and not touching each <br /> other. Touching side posts can spark and create a fire. <br /> - Completely flll the first layer before starting the second layer. <br /> - When the first layer is full, count the batteries. Place a wafer board on the <br /> first layer.
