This location is not acceptable to our water department. this obviously presents a certain amount of
difficulty if the Water department ever needs to dig up the main and work on it. It apFears that when the main was recenUy
replaced that it was moved to the north and closer to the building than was originally planned. Options for elimina6ng this
problem could be expense and time consuming. One option would be to move the water main, another would be to move
the building. A third optiowould be to increase the depth of the footing along the side of the building where the water main
is located. This would provide greater stability to the building if it ever became necessary for the excavate the main. The
City considers the third optior an acceptable solution to this poblem.
