.,
Ms. Celia Strong
December 17, 1979
Page Two
1. The subject property has always drained to the wetted area.
2. The original grading plan was approved by the City with no drainage
problems noted. The developer proceeded with his plans as submitted.
3. Detention is being provided on the Wight property. The volume of
water in the wetted area is not likely to increase due to development.
Any percolation that may have occurred in the predeveloped sta+e
probably surfaced in the wetted area.
4. Directing the drainage to the west would require excessive quantities
of fill material to be placed to elevate the entire property three to
five feet because of the shallow depth of existing drainage structures
on Evergreen 41ay. Winter weather conditions which we are now
experiencing would delay placement of fills and therefore completion
of the project until late Spring at best. Because of the seasonal
nature of the nursery business, this would create a possibly
non-recoverable economic hardship on the developer's plans for an
early Spring opening.
We hope this information will aid you in revising your original request.
An early response would be appreciated.
Respectfully submitted,
• .
R.
