CASCADE TCSTING LAE30RATORY. INC.
T[STING & INSPECTON / LNGIN[EFS / GEOLOGISTS
December 16, 1981
Cert. No. 8112-13G
Paper Warehouse Corporation
Page 10
I'ooting and Roof Drains
To reduce or eliminate water from accumulating vithin the foundation
area we strongly recommend that all footings have adequate drainage.
Foundation drainage should be tightlined away from the building and
into a proper drainage course.
All roof drains should be tightlined into a system independent from
the footing drairs and directed into a propEr drainage course.
Special Notes
The glacial till soils that underlie the site have outstanding
strength characteristics. However, water flowing oco these soils
from any source wi7.1 have an adverse effect on their workability and
strength. The soils overlying the basal till soils are also very
sensitive t changes in moisture. Two facts are obvious at this
site. The first is, we know tY:ere is ground water lying above the
dense glacial till and second, it most likely will continue to rain.
Water control will be the key to success of the soils phase of this
project. Proper supervision and sound judgment should be of high
oriority.
We stron9ly recommend the observation, inspection and/or testing of
all phases of site development by the soils engineer or his quali-
fied representat:ve. Through this inspe:tion ny necessary modifi-
cations to our recommendations could be made immediately with an
 appropriate solution.
'
.

u
