(c) Put sign (1-inch letters) at bell to say "ELEVATOR S`fOKE DETECTOR". <br />. 3. Spr k�{,�gads are not required at the top of shafts in hydraulic �� <br />ele��drs. • � <br />4. k'nen sprinkler heads are installed at the top of the shaft, they <br />shall be connecte'd to the same piping as the machine room. (\'o <br />smoke or heat aill be required at the top of the shaft.) <br />5. When a shut-off valve, with built-in tamper vires, is used, it <br />� is accep[able for [he shunt to trip off when the valve is almost <br />fully open. (Rationale is that it is almosc impossible to get <br />a valve that vorks from the closed position aad the amount of vater <br />discharged prior to the shunt activation is minimal.) <br />6. Elevator key switches in high-rise and shut-off valves in low-rise <br />shall have a permanently attached sign in 1/4-inch letters that <br />says "ELEVATOR POWER DISCONNECT AND AUTOMATIC SPRINKLER ACTIVATION". <br />
